Fried Green Tomatoes

First of all, make sure your tomato is green!! Any hint of blush and these things will turn to mush in your hot oil. I make thick slices, like a quarter to a half an inch.

You need a small plate full of 1 cup flour with a half teaspoon each garlic and onion powder mixed into it, oh and also 2 tbsp of kosher salt, less if you have regular table salt. Then fill another plate with half cup each panko and cornmeal. And last but not least, whisk 2 eggs and a splash of milk or cream in a bowl. I used two medium green tomatoes for this recipe.

Take a slice and dip in the flour, then the egg, then the flour, then the egg, then the breadcrumb/cornmeal! Do all your slices and stack them up, then heat up a pan filled with a half inch of oil. Fry your slices!! They literally only take about a minute per side. I cut mine into strips and dip them in ranch, Brad takes a whole piece, covers it with spaghetti sauce and bites it like a wild animal. You do you.
